In addition to seeing patients at Unger Primary Care, Dr. Unger is the regional director for Mission Hospice helping patients with terminal illnesses. “We can’t always cure, but we can always heal!”
Dr. Unger is the Medical Director for Akasha Recovery Center in San Diego, CA. Patients at Akasha are treated in-patient for polysubstance abuse disorders setting.
Dr. Unger continues to work with Catalina Research Institute. Research projects include developing drugs for the management of fatty liver disease as well as novel retinal photo cameras which could be used by family physicians to detect diabetic eye disease
